The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Finally got around to having a second crack at playing through this game and really enjoyed it. I didn't get too much into the usual side quests and collectables but had a great time, especially once you get the hookshot and the megaton hammer. |

Final Fantasy XIII I'm about 12 hours in and currently really enjoying it. The storytelling is improved due to the very linear nature, but actually I don't mind it so far. The paradigm system keeps combat interesting and dynamic. Can't wait to get further into it. |

Imogen This is the first game I ever played, on an old BBC back in the early nineties. |
|
Super Mario Land I think this game actually led me to smash a Gameboy on a bedpost. |
|
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 The gravity-defying combos were hilarious, and it had an excellent soundtrack. |
|
Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge This is probably my favourite game of all time. |

GoldenEye 007 This game practically defined multiplayer gaming when I was finishing school. I fondly remember spending hours upon hours with my friends thrashing through about three different levels, making up our own rules (no Oddjob unless you're new), and figuring out all the tricks (hopping back up into the facility ventilation duct and planting proxy mines, anyone?). I don't think that it's aged all that well, largely due to vast improvements in controller design, but it will always occupy a special place in my heart. |

Portal Despite spawning one of the most over-used memes in recent memory, this game is brilliantly original, wickedly funny, and just a whole bunch of fun. |

Aion This game is evidence that Korean gamers like grinding above all else. Well, not above Starcraft, but that's like a friggin' religion. |
|
Assassin's Creed I really enjoyed this game for maybe the first five hours, apart from the awkward story progression bits in the future, but after that you're just performing the same sidequests over and over and it got pretty boring. |

Mass Effect It took me a while to warm to this game because of the slightly confusing inventory system and readjusting my brain to figure that 'biotic' is basically code for 'Force powers'. Once I'd gone back to it though, I loved every minute of it. Yep, even the planetside vehicle sections. I went through as a biotic Adept, pulling enemies into the air before slamming them into walls. Excellent story (as we've come to expect from Bioware), some interesting characters, and a kickass movie-like ending. It's probably the closest I've ever come to an interactive action film, and I really, really liked it. |

Borderlands Very highly stylized shooter with some fun weapons and enemies. It does get very repetitive, but on splitscreen multiplayer that didn't matter at all. Also contains the meta-game 'who can loot that chest the quickest while their team mate is ganked by skags'. |
|
Beautiful Katamari Very pretty and very quirky, but I didn't find that it held much replay appeal. |
