jonty Excellent Quake II based FPS with graphics upgrades designed for fast-paced multiplayer pwnage. Cross-platform and runs nicely on just about anything.

jwheare Agreed with @metabrew. Quake clone. Only really worth a go if you're on a mixed office LAN and want a quick free FPS to play.

metabrew Recommended because it's free, will work nicely on mac, win and linux, and doesnt require a stonking graphics card. Good for office-LAN sessions. Team DM and CTF modes are fun.
