Mass Effect 2 A truly great game, can’t wait for the third installment. And do get the Lair of the Shadow Broker, it’s really quite good. |
Mass Effect It’s great, really great. I liked how easy romancing was, I wish it was that obvious in real life ;) |
Left 4 Dead I just played it for the first time and sat on the edge of my seat the whole time. It’s good. |
Maniac Mansion I played this, just like most other old games, at my uncle’s, who was living with my grandparents, who were very popular with me at the time. |
Day of the Tentacle Isn’t this the game that had Maniac Mansion in it? That’s as far as I got in the actual game. |
Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter I still think this is the best Star Wars game. |
TrackMania A racing game that feels a little bit like Stunts. It’s become quite popular on LANs. |
X-COM: UFO Defense Me and a friend played this for hours and hours when it came out. Being 9 years old and not speaking much English, we never made it to Mars, though. We then played this again just a couple of months ago. Playing it took us back to our childhood. We even made it to Mars, at which point it crashed. A bitter-sweet experience. |
Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge I loved it. Until I got to the dark room where you couldn’t see a thing and I couldn’t figure out how to go on. Never did. @mueslix laughed at me when I told him and said I was pretty close to the end. I did not laugh with him. |
The Secret of Monkey Island I had to always play this with my dad because I didn’t speak English when I was that young. I don’t think that made him too happy. |
Captain Comic I think this was the first game I ever played. I don’t think I made it past the second level. |
The Settlers II 10th Anniversary This has the paths concept, which in my mind is what The Settlers is all about, and updated graphics. I like it. |
The Settlers I played this on my uncle’s Amiga. He was living with my grandparents. That made them quite popular with me at that time. |
UFO: Enemy Unknown Me and a friend played this for hours and hours when it came out. Being 9 years old and not speaking much English, we never made it to Mars, though. We then played this again just a couple of months ago. Playing it took us back to our childhood. We even made it to Mars, at which point it crashed. A bitter-sweet experience. |
GoldenEye 007 I dimly remember playing this in the 4-player split screen mode at a friend’s house after school for weeks. |
Duke Nukem 3D The first first-person shooter game I’ve played. One day the school bus didn’t come. So a guy two or three years above me took me to his house and we played this. It was pretty overwhelming with all the 3Ding and the shooting and the strippers. |
Unreal Tournament 2004 This is a wonderful game. It would be a lot better if it had no onslaught mode, though, as that is what all my friends want to play all the time and I hate it. |
FIFA 10 This is—despite all its shortcomings—the only game I will play without getting tired of. (Only in multiplayer, though.) |
Quake Live It was good fun during an impromptu LAN session with a few friends. Runs as a plugin in your browser (with a full-screen mode). |
Nexuiz Free, cross-platform, doesn’t require a good computer. Good for quick LAN sessions. |
Cube 2: Sauerbraten It’s free, multi-platform and doesn’t require the newest computer. Great if you wanna have a quick LAN session. |
