Number Munchers Screw Oregon Trail. If I ever have kids, they're gonna get a solid foundation of Number Munchers. |

Return to Zork Visual exploration like Myst, but came out before Myst, on like a billion 3.5 inch disks. Unsettling but funny storyline, inventory management stuff, and had at the time what was considered "revolutionary" motion video. |

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem This game gets all meta, trying to make you feel crazy as you play it. It doesn't hurt that the game is also pretty fun, and has a pretty good storyline. |

Blaster Master Great gameplay mechanics for the NES. You're in a TANK that JUMPS, and blasts things. You play a little bobble-head who occasionally leaves the tank to take on bosses, ostensibly searching for your pet frog. This game is so awesome, it doesn't need a storyline. |

Assassin's Creed II Instead of crips and bloods you've got assassins and templars. Hokey story. Bite-sized missions you can play for five minutes, then do something else. Well designed world that's just as fun to hop around wasting time rather than playing the main storyline. |
|
Wing Commander: Privateer This game probably doesn't wear its age well, but nonetheless it was a jewel of my childhood, and the best of the Wing Commander series. |

Doodle Jump Crap, but the good kind. Keep it on your iPhone to amuse small children and old people. |
